Description
This is a beautiful antique pair of boudoir lamps, dating from 100 years ago or earlier. The ceramic figures on them are rare pieces made by Goldscheider in Austria and they were designed by Rudolph Maison (1854-1904). One is a right side version and the other is a left side version of the same subject. They are each signed ''Maison'' on the back. They are mounted on solid brass with a bronze finish, with the original sockets, harps and finials. The pull chains on the sockets are no longer there but the lamps have been nicely re-wired with an in-cord switch on each one. The Goldscheider figure on one is in excellent condition with no damage or wear of any kind. The other figure has been broken across the ankle and foot and around the base and it has been repaired, not a professional repair, but a minimal repair so that it looks great but the break can still be seen upon close inspection. Each figure measures about 8.5'' tall and the lamps measure 17.5'' to the top of the finials.
