You are looking at a most unusual transition piece from the workshop in Biela, Austria of Julius Dressler--perhaps the top producer of quality and now somewhat rare majolica....this is a wonderful 6 inch vase--squared on circular foot--somewhat dimpled like an old Pinch Scotch bottle...The pattern in the majolica could just as easily be a part of the American Arts and Crafts period stylewise...but it is European and sign JBD--with the newer stamped signature under glaze instead of the old Kiln Style raised---so that puts it in the 1810 and above category.
I love the quality of the Dressler pieces and have been buying and selling them for almost 25 years now..
if you are not taking a fancy to this piece--check out my Ebay store where I have perhaps 23 more Dressler pieces listed.
This piece is in mint condition--with absolutely no issues.(There is a small spot on the lip of the vase that the glaze did not cover however)..see photos.
Thanks for looking and hopefully this is the one you have been looking for...yea....LOL
