Description

Just 5 inches tall, this rare Austrian lusterware amphora vase features acanthus leaves of glowing green, blue and violet  flowing into a Middle Eastern-inspired waist and collar  of curlicues, arabesques and blossoms overlaid with silver glazes.   The classic amphora shape is finished with delicate handles and foot.
The miniature vase is only 5 inches tall by 3 3/8 inches at widest, yet retains  all of the fine details of larger examples.  Overall in fine condition, with one tiny rub at base that can be felt but is not obvious.   Signed in glaze with six-sided medallion, KARTMOO-- (rest unreadable), MADE IN AUSTRIA.  Please enlarge to see details.   (Colors depicted best in lst pix; overly green in  some that show detail well.)
Made in the Egyptian Revival or Etruscan style of the late 1890's and later inspiring fashion again in the Art Deco Period, this little vase can be a lovely addition to a mini-pottery collection.   Probably made by one the many art potteries flourishing at the time in Austria using  Iridescent glazes.
Sweet diminutive vase for gifting.....
