    Description
    Offered for your consideration is an antique Montague's & Company Chocolate Own Spun Candies (empty) half pound net weight candy box.  Montague's & Company was located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and opened around 1900, but closed in the 1930s due to the Great Depression.  From, I would guess, the 1910-20s era, the box features a young woman dressed in attire depicting the era, sitting in front of a spinning wheel.  The spinning wheel is a reference to the SPUN CANDY that was created by the company. The box does includes the original interior tissue flaps used to help protect the yummy contents.  In good 'as found' condition, all of the graphics are legible. Overall, the box does show handling, but there are no markings, which would interfere with the graphics. There is also some discoloration to the box, due to age.  On the back of the box, in the center, is a tear, which could be concealed if displayed.  It measures 8 3/4" x 3 5/8" x 1 1/4" tall. It has a weight of about 2 ounces. A very nice addition for the candy advertising collection. Auctions can be combined to save on shipping. Thank you for viewing my listing.
