This lovely pot bears the
white ware mark MZ (Moritz Zdekauer) Austria.
The pot is
decorated with
hand painted violets
and green leaves
on a pastel background. The handle, the spout and the border are
heavily gilded.
The work is signed A.Holmes. Anna Holmes had a China Decorating Studio
in Chicago from 1915 to 1917.
This
large piece
is
approximately 9 1/2
" high with lid and 8
1/2" wide
from
the spout
to the handle.
The flower decoration is still in great
condition. The gold has some
wear,
in particular
at the base of the handle.
No chips, cracks or crazing.
